Canary Clan at Oubliette
I’m so happy to have Cheryl, Al, Brandy and Taylor at Oubliette for a few days. We’ve been having too much fun feeding the wildlife, watching them run after each other (and us) and climb high in the tree to drop acorns leaves and twigs on us. We’ve been eating to much and drinking just enough—its been a relaxing good time.
Paula will be joining us in a couple of days. She’s gearing up for fall semester and she has meetings to attend and syllabi to write. But she’s carving out some time to spend up here.
It’s been such a treat to have these beautiful people visiting us. Unlike everyone in Carson Valley, it’s a rare thing for me to get exposure to family—and it’s really a great thing.
Right now the sun is setting on another perfect day. The long and low angle of the sun is dappling the trees and rocks with color. Al is at the Grill, a Guinness is at hand and all is right with the world.
Wish you were here.

I wish I could have been there too. I don't even know what happened to summer. It arrived and it is leaving. We are going next week to Pine Mountain Lake for a few days. The kids will come up on the weekend and stay for 4 days. Brian has never seen Yosemite and since it is only 3 hours or so away they can leave real real early on Sunday morning and have a good 4 days in. I can hardly wait. Your place sounds fantastic. CC and AL said they will share their pics with us soon. Yes, we will have to plan a trip to see it all. Love ya...
